For all my stalker friends...you guys are the best!!!
I had planned on blogging more today as there seems to be too much info to share in one sitting, but again, God had other plans. We took Nicholas to the FANA doctor today. They were so happy to see him that they decided to keep him. Yeah, he had to be admitted into the hospital. He had a low grade temperature so they want to watch that it doesn´t turn into pneumonia. What is it with Thayer babies and having to give them back? Anyway, while it was SOOOOO hard to leave him, he is in the best possible place. He is familiar with them and they he. They will provide 24 hour care while Chris and I catch up on sleep.
My heart is so sad right now, but more than anything, I know that Nicholas is God´s child and He can care for him better than I. Chris and I are relying on His strength right now and honestly aren´t worried about all of the government stuff. GOD has all of us in His hands. He loves us and we will leave Colombia when the time is right. I´d love to be able to ¨fix it¨, but I can´t, so we sit and wait and enjoy our adventure. It is strange to have such a peace, but I know it is only possible through Christ.
Thanks all of you for your prayers and verses. What I find amazing is that none of you, when you shared them, knew we were at the hospital. And yet they were shared and so applicable to today. The other cool thing is that they can be an encouragement to another reader. YEAH GOD!!!!
Well, I need to run. It´s time for supper. We eat at strange times --8:00 AM (not so strange), 1:00 PM (a little late for me) and 7:00 PM (way too late for me). It´s also the same time here as home, so that helps in the ¨calling the kids¨ area and jet lag :).
Gotta run, but I will blog again tonight and download those picture you´re so craving :). It gives you stalkers a legitimate reason to check back :)

I don't need a LEGITIMATE reason to check back-- I'm going to check anyway!! Matt's with me this time; Poor Nicholas (& you guys too)... I hope that he heals quickly.
When will you hear more from the government, etc...?
Praying for you..... Still can't wait to see more pictures-- and then actually meet him soon!! ;)
We're praying for Nicholas' speedy recovery. He looks very well taken care of there. What a sweetie. This has been such a journey of faith for the both of you, living day to day, knowing that God is in complete control even if you don't quite know the script. God has taken good care of you thus far and He isn't going to lose track of you now. He is even fluent in Spanish, can conjugate the verbs and doesn't need "the yellow book"! We appreciate the detail, the pictures, and your sharing(the ups AND the downs). We love you.
Good morning Thayer family. We have not met yet. We live in Tucson, AZ and by God's grace we lived in MN for a short while and was able to adopt our son Alexander through FANA. Now we have a second child through FANA as well, Natalia.
I have been reading about your experience in Colombia and I can empathize with you so much. Our son had to be in the hospital for 1 week with the same issues. It was so difficult and I am sorry that you have to go through seeing your child in pain.
Just remember, the Lord heals, the Lord comforts and the Lord will hear your prayers. We called on all of our praying family and along with us, we prayed each day until our son came home. He was healed. The doctors at FANA could not believe how he recovered so quickly. We will be keeping Nicholas in our prayers and I am sure that he will be healed too.
The nurses and doctors at FANA are wonderful and so awesome! Please tell them that Ives and Amie de Chazal says "hello" and that we were there back in Feb. 2004.
Also, please say "hello" to the El Refugio clan. We were there both times and had such a good experience. The entire El Refugio family was awesome to us.
Again, sorry that we have not met, but we will be praying for you and your family.
Take care and God Bless.
Ives, Amie, Alexander & Natalia
