Family number 1 left for France after lunch today :(. Their son is from the southern part of Colombia. It is more dangerous there because of the FAQ, so their process went very quickly.Today is Nate´s birthday. Not fun to be away. It was Lena´s birthday too, so we celebrated for both of them --Raspberry cake, mmmmm!!!! Lots of tears in Mommy´s eyes...
I had hoped by some miracle to sign sentencia this week --especially since things seemed to be moving so quickly, but at FANA this AM (Nicholas had anther DR´s app´t) I found out that the Defender of Minor´s office (where our paperwork is currently) is closed this ENTIRE week for workshops. Ugh!!!! So, here we sit. I´m really trying hard to appreciate the beauty of Bogota, but...
Nicholas´ doctor appointment went well. We need to keep up with his inhalers ´til we get home to the states and have him checked out there.
I had some interesting taxi rides this AM. The first taxi driver drove like a maniac. We almost caused SEVERAL accidents. He also didn´t know how to get to FANA. After driving through several unfamiliar neighborhoods, I finally recognized a street and was able to give him directions. Thank goodness I´ve been there so many times. The trip home was safer, but I had to turn down a marraige proposal. He even tried to sweeten the deal by showing me his casa (home) and iglesia (church). It sure made me wish Chris were here. Ugh! Only in Colombia. Wonder what Friday´s trip to FANA will bring. I think Rachel is going to come along. Safety in numbers...
I suppose I´d better run. Maybe I´ll take a nap...

Dear Nikki and Nickolas, I just read your blog over the phone to Howard because he has to be up in the Cities for several days and he wanted to catch up on "the important stuff" like the blogs from church.
We really cracked up on the taxi driver being so wreckless and then wanting to marry you. Well, we really don't blame him.
You are a lovely young mom and I guess he could see that.
We are sorry that the agency has gone on an education kick this week. Bummer. Don't worry too much about your little boys over here. They were Great on Sunday. Nate was dashing here and there just like he "owned" the church. Chris is talking about you with yearning but the little guys are looking very secure to me. Take care of yourself and your cherub and we will see you in God's perfect time. Lovingly, Your Musehl's
I'm sorry things seem delayed this week... after all the hoping of getting home. We were so looking forward to meeting up with you this week at the airport. Next week we'll be out of town...... are you going to be camping in Osceola the end of July?
Well, we'll touch base one of these days. I'm sure the boys are having fun with Grandma T this week anyway.
Talk to you later!! Congrats on the marriage proposal!!
:)
Hey Sis! I hope you did not miss me too much this past week. I am sorry I haven't made any comments this week but I have been checking on you at least once a day. I have been praying for you also. Chris said they were hopefully that you might be home this week. I am so sad to hear that the only place that can send you home is closed this week. I will pray very hard that you will come home on Tuesday of next week or whenever God's timing permits. We will all be at your house waiting for you next Tuesday at 6 PM so I hope you are there. We want to meet Nicholas that much and of course we miss you too.
Seriously though, God has his reasons for his timing even if it is not always apparent. If the whole waiting thing is too much for you then be sure to read Matthew 6:25-34. There is always something we could worry about but we have no need to do so. I sometimes forget to not worry and to pray. It's a good thing the Lord is still working on me. I'm not perfect yet.
Thank you so much for all the pictures. I love to see all of the pictures especially the ones where Nicholas has that huge mischevious grin. You would think Rick had already given him lessons on getting in trouble. Nicholas has the cutiest little cheeks. I can not wait to be a good auntie and squeeze those little cheeks.
I have to go catch my dog. She just escaped. I will continue to pray for your whole family.
You pour thing! I would like so freak out if some crazy taxi driver had me lost and then asked me to marry him!!! EEEEKKKK! I guess you have been there long enough when you start to know your way around.
I guess I am suppose to have the boys again! Next weekend will work out better for me to see you come home anyway. We will be thinking of you this weekend at the lake.
You are were you need to be right now and that is so awsome that he walked today!!! Now, don't forget to teach and re-teach the stairs, because when you get home there are more than 3 steps to your basement.
Sorry, don't mean to sound like a mother. Thanks for the photo's!
Hey-
Sorry to hear about the delay... Good thing that the Lord knows.. is probably sparing your from a safety issue or something.. only he knows :)
We will keep praying that you will arrive safely home and won't decide to take one of those marriage proposals :)-- let's see Columbia or Minnesota, Columbia, or Minnesota.. hmmmmm.
Like #2 said, I am sure that Rick can teach your little guy a few mischevious things... can't we all?
Love ya,
Mel
