Touring...

SUNDAY--The Salt Cathedral tour

Chris and Jaun Manuel in a bread shop in the neighboring town. The bread was great. We brought some home for supper tonight.

The bread shop. They don't refrigerate their eggs here...

Cathedral

Outside of Bogota

Inside The Salt Cathedral
Chris is staning by one of the Stations of the Cross lining the way to the Cathedral. All of the carvings --including the kneelers-- are made out of salt and are just gorgeous. The pictures just don't do them justice.
A replica of the Sistine Chapel painting out of salt
Gabriel
The Nativity

As beautiful as the stations/Cathedral were, it was sad to have no celebration of Christ's victory over death and resurrection and thus, our Eternal Life when we believe.
MONDAY--Monserrate
The Flea Market behind the Cathedral

The Cathedral
Chris and I at the top. I thought I had posted one of Bogota from the top, but it must not have downloaded. I'll the again later. The connection keeps fading on me.

Nicholas when we got home. This was a relief because yesterday he screamed for 3 hours upon our return. Again the punishment for leaving him.

We thought you'd enjoy the sign in our bathroom. If you can't read it it says, "Please don't throw paper into the toilet. Use the waist basket". Yup.

Don't you just love South American plumbing?!? Do you have a hanger next to the toilet so you can go fishing if you forget? We did when I went on a mission trip to Mexico. Scott just told me that at Birds Eye they have signs in the bathrooms that say, "Please make sure that all the toilet paper gets put in the toilet." I'll bet you can figure out why.
Thanks for all the pics. Very interesting to see. Have a great night!
